Good Ole Cheeseburger

I'm taking Tirzepatide, but need a few carbs for the meds to work their best magic. With this GLP1 path Im on our household food life is less edited. A few bites of a real cheeseburger and fresh corn never tasted so good after all these years without. 

I pick up good ground beef at the meat market and make four 4 ounce patties in my metal ring mold and pop two in the freezer for another day. I buy the BIG sesame seed buns and pop them into the freezer as well. I buy 6 unshucked ears of corn each week and pop them into the vegetable drawer. It's pretty easy to put together a meal when you have the components.

If you dont have metal biscuit cutters, these are the ones I have that are great to form burgers, sausage patties, cut biscuits, cook eggs for breakfast sandwiches so they are not raggedy. Amazon Biscuit Cutters

Here's the real time narrative on how to make burgers for supper! Since I dont feel like eating much these days, I have to go into auto pilot most evenings. And this is a good one to put on repeat. 

I turn on the outdoor grill and then back inside the burgers get some Lawry's seasoning on both sides, two cheese slices go on the burger plate, corn gets peeled and put into pot of water for the stovetop and turned to HIGH, two buns from the freezer onto the plate with the burger patties and cheese. Grab a spatula to flip. Head back outside.

Burgers on the grill, buns on the rack above to toast, cover down.

Back inside to check corn and lower heat to a simmer. Grab two forks, two knives, napkins and plates, set the table. Grab a Zevia soda for my husband from the fridge. Head back out to flip burgers. Buns move to plates and a slice of cheese goes on each bottom bun. Burger goes on top of cheese. Turn off grill, close grill lid. 

Come inside and drain corn, a pat of whipped butter goes into pot with some Tabasco seasoning, roll corn in melty seasoned butter and to the plate. Serve. Yum.

A gorgeous plate of food. Can I eat it all? Nope. I can eat most of HALF a burger and maybe 4 bites of the corn. Its cool. I'm getting slimmer by the day!
