Not much has been going on for the last three weeks. I don’t feel a large difference from before I started taking this medication. I have not been hungry since having had Bariatric Surgery over 20 years ago. Im never hungry and it has been a blessing. I also have good restriction all these years later. So I am not a good barometer for change that can be attributed solely to Mounjaro. I do however find that I could NOT care less about eating. I am not interested in food. I make supper, put the plates on the table and don’t really feel like eating the food. I eat less than half and don’t want any more. This food aversion is strong enough where I need to push the plate away from me. This is great for me and know it will be a miracle for so many who have had Bariatric Surgery who have had hunger come back with a vengeance.
No more protein chips!
I have been using this opportunity to clean up my diet. Over the last couple of years I have slid a bit and let too many bad carbs back into my world. They are gone now and I am back to protein and vegetables plus a bit of fruit. Good carbs are good in this plan. A slice of good bread or a baked potato or an apple is actually okay. Im not going to go off the deep edge with the quasi Atkins Keto junk food right now but I do enjoy eating clean fresh foods. Even the foods I used to carry with my old company are now gone. Too many chemicals, artificial ingredients and preservatives go into making them. I can see where clean eating goes hand in hand with GLP1 meds.
The most expensive 5 pounds of my life!
As far as weight, the scale has not moved much. I keep repeating that the point of early dose weeks is not weight loss, BUT I too read of people who lose 20 pounds in their first month and wish that could be me. Nope, at four weeks I have a loss of five pounds. Im okay about it as before Mounjaro I had to really work hard to lose five pounds and this was near zero effort.
Back to the thigh
I had my RNY bariatric surgery in 2001 and in 2006 had a pretty serious extended tummy tuck. That sucker was so tight and smooth that I could not walk upright with good posture for months. All these years later, I still do not have any feeling in the area between my cute little belly button and my FUPA and have what appears to be an 80% numbness center belly.
I am going to go back to injecting into an area with better blood flow as maybe my tummy tuck has permanently restricted or cut off good blood flow in my belly area. Maybe the drug is not pulsing throughout my body as it should.
